When someone calls and you miss it, there is a narrow window to re-engage. An automatic text sent within 60 seconds of a missed call catches people while they are still thinking about you. This is one of the fastest automations to build and one of the most consistently effective.
Note
SMS credits required
SMS messages consume message credits. Confirm your MONDAi phone number is connected and credits are available before activating.
Steps
Go to Automation → Workflows → Create Workflow
Set the trigger to "Missed Call"
Fires when an inbound call is received and not answered on your MONDAi number.
Add a Wait step of 1 to 2 minutes
A brief delay feels more human than an instant automated response.
Add a Send SMS action
Write your message. Keep it under 160 characters.
Toggle to Active
Test it
Have someone call your MONDAi number, let it ring to voicemail, and confirm the text arrives.
What to Write
Personal and direct: "Hey, I just missed your call — I'm [name] from [business]. What can I help with? I'll be right back to you." Under 160 characters. No marketing language.
- Zero-second delay — instant bot responses read as impersonal. A 1–2 minute delay feels human.
- Writing a long marketing message instead of a brief personal one.
- Activating before confirming SMS capability on your MONDAi number.
- Not testing the flow before activating on live contacts.
