Someone calls your business number. You are in a session. They hang up without leaving a voicemail. Without missed call text back, that moment is gone. With it, they receive a text within minutes that acknowledges you saw they called and gives them a clear next step.
This is one of the highest-ROI features in MONDAi for service businesses. It is a single setup that runs permanently in the background and catches leads you would otherwise lose silently.
Steps
Navigate to Missed Call Text Back
Go to Settings → Missed Call Text Back. It is available on all MONDAi plans.
Toggle the feature on
Click Enable Missed Call Text Back. Any missed call to your connected business number will now trigger an automatic SMS to the caller.
Write your text message
Write the SMS that goes to missed callers — under 160 characters. It should acknowledge the missed call and give a clear next step. Example: "Hi, this is [Name] — I saw your call and will get back to you shortly. In the meantime: [booking link]."
Set the delay
Choose how quickly the SMS sends after the missed call. 5 minutes is the sweet spot — fast enough to be impressive without feeling automated.
Save and test
Save your settings. Call your own number from a different phone and let it ring without answering. Verify the text arrives at the correct number within your set delay.
- No next step in the message. "Sorry I missed your call" with no link or instruction wastes the opportunity. Always include a booking link or website URL.
- Sending immediately with no delay. An SMS arriving one second after a missed call feels jarring. A 3 to 5 minute delay feels like a person noticed and responded.
- Not testing before relying on it. Call the number yourself to confirm the SMS delivers before assuming it is working.
