How to Install the Live Chat Widget

Add a live chat widget to your website through MONDAi. Capture visitor messages directly into your CRM and respond from your Conversations inbox.

The live chat widget puts a conversation window on your website. When a visitor sends a message, it routes directly into your MONDAi Conversations inbox — the same place your email replies and SMS threads already live. You respond in one place. Your visitor gets a reply in the chat window on your site.

Every conversation the widget captures becomes a contact record in your CRM automatically. The chat routing infrastructure draws on the same communications layer used across the GoHighLevel platform for unified inbox management.

Steps

  1. Go to Sites → Chat Widget

Select Chat Widget from the sub-menu.

  2. Configure your widget appearance

Set widget color, greeting message, response time message, and the name in the chat header.

  3. Set routing preferences

Choose where incoming chats go — to a specific team member or the general Conversations inbox.

  4. Copy the widget embed code

Click Get Code or Copy Code. Copy the short JavaScript snippet exactly.

  5. Paste the code into your website

    See platform instructions below.

  6. Save and publish your website changes

  7. Confirm the widget appears

Open your live website in an incognito window. The chat bubble should appear in the lower corner.

  8. Send a test message

Confirm it appears in your MONDAi Conversations inbox.

By Website Platform

  • WordPress: Use a header/footer plugin and paste before the closing </body> tag
  • Squarespace: Settings → Advanced → Code Injection → Footer
  • Webflow: Project settings → Custom Code → Footer Code section
  • Custom HTML: Paste immediately before the closing </body> tag

Common mistakes
  • Pasting the code into a draft page — the widget only loads on published, live pages.
  • Installing the code in the header instead of before the closing body tag — header placement can cause conflicts.
  • Forgetting to check Conversations after the test — the widget can appear visually without routing being configured correctly.
  • Expecting the widget on MONDAi-built funnel pages — the embed widget is for external websites.
