A no-show is a session lost. An automated 24-hour email plus a 1-hour SMS catches most people who would have forgotten. Set it once and it runs permanently for every booking on that calendar.
Steps
Open calendar notification settings
Go to Calendars, click Edit, and navigate to the Notifications section.
Enable booking confirmation
Toggle on the immediate booking confirmation. Write a message that confirms date, time, duration, and joining link.
Add a 24-hour reminder
Click Add Notification, set to 24 hours before the appointment. Keep it brief: what the session is, the time, the joining link, one prep note.
Add a 1-hour SMS reminder
Add a second notification 1 hour before. Enable SMS delivery. Write under 160 characters: the time, the link, nothing else. SMS reminders have near-perfect open rates.
Test the full sequence
Book a test appointment. Verify the confirmation arrives immediately, then check that subsequent reminders fire at the correct intervals with the correct content.
- No joining link in the reminder. A reminder without the link forces the client to hunt for it right before the session. Include the link in every message.
- Same copy for email and SMS. Email can be longer. SMS must be one short message with a link. Write them separately.
- Only one reminder. A 24-hour email plus a 1-hour SMS together catch far more people than either alone.
