Tip
Export regularly.
Export your full contact list at least monthly as a backup. The few minutes this takes is insurance against any data loss scenario.
There are several good reasons to export: maintaining a backup, importing into a second tool, analysing your list in a spreadsheet, or migrating to a new system. MONDAi exports as a standard CSV that includes all standard and custom fields.
Steps
Filter to the segment you want
If you want to export all contacts, skip this step. If you want a specific segment, apply filters to narrow to the right group.
Select your contacts
Check the top checkbox to select all filtered results, or select individual contacts.
Export from bulk actions
With contacts selected, open the bulk action menu and select Export.
Download and save the file
The CSV downloads to your computer. Rename it immediately with a descriptive name and date: MONDAi-All-Contacts-April2026.csv.
Verify the export
Open the CSV and confirm the correct contacts are included, the email column is populated, and critical custom fields are present.
- Exporting without filtering. Exporting 4,000 contacts when you needed 200 from a specific program creates a file that requires manual cleanup. Filter first.
- No regular backups. Export your full list at least monthly. Store it somewhere you will find it.
- Assuming exported data includes SMS opt-in status. Check your export columns carefully. SMS consent status may not export in all configurations.
